Fulcrum is an independent asset manager founded by Andrew Stevens and Gavyn Davies in 2004. Today, Fulcrum has a team of over 80 employees, with 15 partners, managing assets of £6.5bn. dVAM DLA is run by the Fulcrum Alternative Solutions (FAS) Team. FAS develops solutions that are designed to offer diversification from core bond and equity markets. The team members have experience of managing portfolios of third party long-only and absolute return strategies since the beginning of the millennium and Fulcrum first offered externally selected liquid alternatives solutions in 2007. The Fulcrum Alternative Solutions (FAS) Team is part of Fulcrum Asset Management LLP, a firm authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN230683).

Matt Roberts, CFA, Head of Fulcrum Alternative Solutions 

Matt is Head of Fulcrum Alternative. He has been at Fulcrum Asset Management from 2018 having previously worked at Willis Towers Watson as a Portfolio Manager for Towers Watson Partners Fund (2014-2017) and as Manager Researcher from 2005-2013.

Mark Horne, CFA, Portfolio Manager Alternative Credit

Mark is the Portfolio Manager for Alternative Credit allocation and is a member of the FAS Investment Committee. He has been at Fulcrum Asset Management from 2018. Before this, he worked as an Independent Consultant in Asset Management (2013-2017) and as a Manager Researcher at Willis Towers Watson from 2008–2013.

 

David Merton, CFA, Portfolio Manager, Diversifiers

David is the Portfolio Manager for the Diversifiers allocation and is also a member of the FAS Investment Committee. Previously he worked as a Director at Time Partners Investment Advisory before which he worked alongside Matthew Roberts as a Portfolio Manager at Willis Towers Watson.

 

James Haworth-Booth, FCA, Operational Due Diligence

James has been working at Fulcrum Asset Management since 2015, previously being the Director of Operational Due Diligence at Gottex Asset Management (formerly EIM) from 2013-2015. From 2006 to 2013 he was Head of Operational Due Diligence at Key Asset Management. 

Shiwen Gao, CFA, Portfolio Manager, Real Assets

Shiwen is the Portfolio Manager for Real Assets and is a member of the FAS Investment Committee. Shiwen has been at Fulcrum Asset Management since 2020. Previously she worked as a Fund Selection Specialist at Investec Wealth & Investment from 2016.

 

James English, Investment Analyst

James English joined Fulcrum Asset Management as an intern in the summer of 2021 becoming an Analyst and permanent team member in August 2021. James previously achieved his Masters In Management MSc from Bristol University.

Samriddhi Sharma, Responsible Investment Associate

Sam joined Fulcrum Asset Management in 2022 to focus on ESG integration & engagement, having previously been a Sustainable Finance Senior Consultant at EY. Sam has obtained her MSc in Environmental Policy & Regulation from London School of Economics and holds a certificate in Climate Change Risk in Finance from the University of Edinburgh.
